EDMONTON, November 26, 2003 - A Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) news release appears as follows:

HEALTHY WORKPLACE INITIATIVE AWARD

The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA) is currently calling for nominations for the Healthy Workplace Initiative Award. It is not a monetary award, however, will be presented on an annual basis to an employer and or organization that has implemented a workplace initiative that contributes to the psychological health and well-being of their employees. Examples of various initiatives are, but not restricted to, the implementation of family-friendly policies; initiation of programs for employee growth and development; delivery of stress reduction programs; promotion of health and wellness. 

The healthy workplace initiative must be directly related to employee wellness; be current, either ongoing or completed within the past year; be of practical benefit to employees and/or their families.

All nominations will be reviewed by the PAA Awards Committee who will choose the recipient. The recipient of the award, as well as the nominator will be invited to the annual awards banquet being held on May 14, 2004 in Edmonton, Alberta. Deadline for submission to the PAA office is March 12, 2004.
